The Story So Far
Building Presentation
The 2 services on the morning of Sunday 18th July 2010 took a different form to normal, as we focussed on our vision and plans for the new building. Andy Barclay-Watt reminded us of the vision, Sarah Smith talked about where we've got to and what next, and Sue Matthews, Nick Matthews, Ian Harrison and Tom Giles answered some Frequently asked Questions. The full text for the latter is available here.
You can listen to the recording or the Powerpoint that was shown can be downloaded.
New gifts from outside the church
In March 2010 we were delighted to have received a number of gifts for our Building Fund in recent months from outside the church:
£3,000 from King's Church, Manchester £1,000 from the Ingrebourne Trust £2,200 from spouses of former church members (the latter now sadly passed away) £600 from the Duchy of Lancaster £1,000 from Ivy Church, Manchester.
Planning - Approved
Thank you for your prayers in this connection. The Council's Planning Committee unanimously approved our Application tonight without any objections, or even discussion.
Credit is due to our Architects, who liaised ceaselessly with the Planners prior to tonight, providing all the additional info requested, and addressing any concerns raised. And to Tim Munday, who wrote a very detailed report covering all the main traffic and transport issues.
Our Planning Application sucess was featured here on 21 Jan in the Trafford Metro News, and in the Sale & Altrincham Messenger of 28th JanuarySee a PDF of the article here, or see it on the Messenger site here.
Positive Press Coverage
See here for good coverage in the trafford metronews of 16th January 2009 about the church's progress towards a new centre.David Rolles really did not want to be in the picture, but the photographer insisted!
Also see here for good coverage in the Sale & Altrincham Messenger of 15th January 2009 about the church's progress towards a new centre. David Rolles is slightly misquoted! |
